Temie Tubosun, Founder Lifebank (Nigeria)

Temie serves as the CEO of LifeBank, a platform that makes blood available when and where it is needed in Nigeria to save lives. LifeBank mobilizes blood donations, take inventory of all blood available in the country, and deliver blood in the right condition to the point of need. In 2014, the BBC listed her as one of the 100 Women changing the world and was recognized as an African Innovator by Quartz and the World Economic Forum. In 2019 Temie Giwa-Tubosun walked away with the top $250,000 cash prize from the $1 million available from the Africa Netpreneur Prize Initiative by Chinese billionaire Jack Ma.

Bethlehem Alemu, CEO soleRebels (Ethiopia)

Bethlehem Tilahun Alemu is an Ethiopian business woman, founder and executive director of soleRebels, Africa’s “fastest growing footwear company”. Alemu has received honors and accolades for her business acumen, as well as her efforts to shift the discourse on Africa away from poverty to the continent’s entrepreneurial spirit, social capital, and economic potential. Alemu launched “The Republic of Leather”, designing sustainable luxury leather goods, and “Garden of Coffee” retail outlets to promote Ethiopian coffees.

Rachel Sibande, Founder mHub (Malawi)

Sibande is the founder of mHub, Malawi’s first technology hub. The hub is a social enterprise that has championed the development of technology solutions across sectors such as health, governance, elections monitoring, and human rights in more than six countries. The hub has facilitated over 1 million USD in financing to emerging entrepreneurs over 5 years creating more than 950 jobs and impacting over 5,000 people in diverse value chains. The hub has trained over 40,000 youths with business and technology skills. Dr Rachel Sibande is a Program Director with the Digital Impact Alliance (DIAL) at the United Nations Foundation. She leads sector-wide demonstrations of initiatives that leverage data for development projects and leads the development of analytical models.
